This policy explains how Okashiya ("we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data when you visit www.okashiya.co or buy from us. We follow Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing address, and the items you buy.
  • Payment details: payments are handled by Shopify and our payment providers. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, form or social media.
  • Browsing data: device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed and how you reached our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you've signed up for our emails or texts.

How we use it

  • To process, ship and track your orders, and handle returns and refunds.
  • To reply to your questions and give customer support.
  • To send you marketing emails or messages, only if you've agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To measure and improve our site and advertising, and to prevent fraud.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.

Who we share it with

We only share what's needed for each purpose, with:

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and checkout.
  • Payment providers, which process your payment securely.
  • Our fulfilment partner and couriers, which receive your name, address and phone number to pack and deliver your order.
  • Advertising and analytics partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google, which help us measure our ads and show them to relevant people.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

We don't sell your personal data.

Transfers outside Singapore

Some of these partners store or process data outside Singapore. When we transfer your data overseas, we take steps to make sure it's protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand how our site is used and measure our ads. You can manage your choices in our cookie banner or in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law. For example, we keep order records for tax and accounting purposes.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable security measures to protect your data, including the security built into Shopify. No method of sending or storing data online is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and find out how it's been used;
  • correct anything that's wrong;
  • withdraw your consent to us using your data (this may mean we can't complete an order); or
  • stop receiving marketing.

Children

Our store isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
